A Peek Inside The paNASH Style Closet: Dressing Up A T-shirt and Jeans

Everybody has t-shirts and jeans in their closet, and when you just want to be comfortable you can always reach for that tried and true wardrobe staple. But, if you want to be comfortable and also look good, there are a few ways to glam up your t-shirt and jeans.

Here, I've taken a long sleeve t-shirt I got from the Belmont University bookstore (I love how flattering the cut of this tee is!) and my favorite pair of jeans from The Gap.

I first start by adding a necklace (NY & Company). If your t-shirt is scoop neck like this one, then you would add a short necklace to fill that negative space. If you are wearing a V-neck or crew neck tee, you can add a longer necklace or pendant.

Next, add a pair of pointed-toe flats (Off Broadway Shoes) and a lightweight infinity scarf (or a heavier scarf and boots for cooler weather). If it gets too warm for the scarf, then when you remove it you still have the necklace to add interest to the tee. (I got the scarf from - believe it or not - Walgreens! Two for $10!)

Finally, throw a smart blazer (Target) on over the tee to really dress up the look and add some polish.  A lightweight blazer is versatile and perfect for this time of year when temps are still chilly in the morning and warmer in the afternoon.

Put it all together and voila!

Guys, you can do the same with your own t-shirt and jeans if you need to quickly transition from comfy to somewhat dressy. All you need to do is replace your flip flops with a nicer pair shoes, tuck in your t-shirt (optional) and add a belt and a sport jacket.
