KICK it Up a Notch! Financial Backing for Creative Types

Below is an article that I included in the April 2012 paNASH Style newsletter and it's one I wanted to share with the readers of my blog since so many of you are artists trying to fund your career.  My newsletter also includes general style tips and information on resources for all readers.  Those subscribing to the newsletter from the paNASH Style web site will receive a free download of style and networking tips exclusive to newsletter subscribers.

How many of you artists out there know that you need to invest some time and money into developing your image (to attract more fans, sponsors, potential labels, etc.), but don't know how you're going to pay for it on top of all the production costs for your next recording project or your next tour?  Why not factor the cost of the necessary imaging services (i.e. media coaching for radio tour, styling for performances and photo shoots of album cover and single release, etc.) for your next project or tour into your Kickstarter.com campaign goal?  Don't know what Kickstarter.com is?  It's an easy way to fund up to 100% or more of your next creative project.

In fact, one of my previous clients launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the production of her sophomore album, and ended up generating $11,500 OVER the goal amount she needed to complete the project (that's 330% funding)!  A duo I'm personal friends with has had several successful Kickstarter campaigns, including one that funded their last tour.  When setting up your own campaign, include ALL the costs that will be involved in your next project, including the image consulting services offered by paNASH Style.

Kickstarter.com is not just for musicians.  It's for fashion designers needing funding for the development of their line, photographers and authors needing help with publishing expenses, and so many other creative types!
